Caution, turtle crossing.

The sheepish hair growing from the sidewalks,
is the traffic light of my new hard hat,
it knits me an audacious envelope,
and sends me off to a strangers welcome mat.
The fine strands of light get caught on my ripped skin,
leaving a trail of knotted flesh,
a trail fed on by whimsical cities of dust,
it's all yours, I'm starting fresh.
Caution signs cling to me,
post-its are found in my underwear,
chalkboards take over my vocal chords,
and envious alarms begin to swear.
My fingernails are impatient switches,
waiting for paper airplanes to fall into my nest,
I'm a bird lacking in building material,
and you just happened to be offering your venerate chest.

Really?

OPENX package openers.

Distillers splurge with pruned fingers

I've never videod anything in my life before so I thought I'd give it a shot and put a video on youtube for the first time. Weeooo. This is early morning right after a shower with a towel on my head and super pruned fingers that made it difficult to hold chords but w.e. here it is, me singing a part of a Distillers song.  Super short and random burst of energy in the morning.

Terrible packaging design

I find this hilarious.

Nutella Packaging

Ever since I was a wee little one, I’ve been amazed at the Nutella packaging design. I grew up in Europe and obviously Nutella was my choice of delicious spread so I forced my parents/grandparents to constantly have it in the house. I was so obsessed with it that I used to eat it in spoonfuls (actually still do till this day). What’s so intriguing about it is that it’s packaged for repurposing.

I actually found a really neat website that features a large selection of repurposed designs, although I didn’t see Nutella on it! Here is their definition:
Design for Repurposing is a evolved design strategy that incorporates the concept of repurposing in product design in order to extend the longevity of products by intentionally designing features or details that facilitate repurposing.”

Check it out!

In Europe, the Nutella container is actually a drinking glass. How awesome is that? And this idea comes from way back in the 70's! About 10 years after Nutella started up as a company. I think the main reason why my family was content with my addiction to Nutella was that they were benefiting from it with a really nice glass collection. Also since everything in Europe is pricey and there aren’t any dollar stores to do some cheap shopping in, this is an ideal sale! Anyone would feel bad throwing out a perfectly good glass so it is almost definite that the packaging will have a second life. Throughout my stay in Europe, Nutella went through about 3 different glass designs (short, tall, hexagon) with no logo or writing on them which made them perfect for any occasion whether it be fancy or casual. I’ve however been out of the loop with regards to the packaging and found many collections online with printed designs such as the Simpsons or Disney characters! I think they were limited releases. Currently in Italy there will be a new release of Nutella glasses with a playful design based around their logo. I don’t think this will be as successful since most people don’t want advertisements in their home but I’m sure people will still make use of it.

Too bad in America they all come in plastic!

Grade 11 Darkroom

Just found these two photographs while cleaning out some stuff. I used to love experimenting in the darkroom I really need to find the rest of my photos!

Nuit Blanche

So after a crazy weekend of working on a set which deprived me of sleep and energy, and got me super drunk from wrap up tequila shots, I still managed to go out for nuit blanche!! I don't recall this photo nor do I know where it was taken so I'm adding it here for a memory that my drunken woven brain couldn't handle.

Don't chase

I like being stuck in this covetous free tale
but I find myself reeking of toxic infatuation
for the ghosts drenched in apple coated skyscrapers
and chewed gum of the head mistress.
They paste their immaterial letters onto lost footprints of the hungry
and bury their teeth into the flesh of concrete vines.
With no voice or ears to guide them sane
they peel each memory into a box of scars and hold it to drain.
An ants scream will break the seal
so they hide in bottoms of used coffee mugs
blending into ambiguous highs of household drugs.
I stretch my line across grazing hallways
I want to take back whats mine
but the hook is now your reflection
and I'm having trouble finding mine.

BRAIN SHIFT

In the past year I've changed so much it's like my brain had a really high dose of salvia that just didn't wear off, a brain shift of some sort, it's going through a new phase. Whatever chemical created anger, anxiety or depression is now replaced with happy and everything just makes sense now. Optimism is driving it. I've met more people in the past year that I've met in my entire life and I just want to keep meeting more, it's an addiction now. My creativity is at it's highest and I'm keeping busy living life to it's fullest potential. I'm rarely lazy and just want to be out constantly. I've also realized I do not want to be in a relationship anytime soon it just holds people back, well I mean if I fall in love can't stop that but there are so many people that I haven't met in the world it's just driving me to keep moving forward. It's a little annoying that so many guys are falling in love with my relaxed state of mind and friendliness, but I'm getting good at convincing them to just be friends. I want to live in the clouds.
